Cookery Day Courses
For all our Bed and Breakfast guestsWhy not spend a day or part of a day learning the art of traditional cooking, Ligurian style?
Would you like to learn how to make the delicious local specialities such as fresh hand-made pasta or gnocchi with pesto sauce or salsa di noci (walnut sauce), the wonderfully tasty torta verde, focaccia with herbs, sardenaira, brandacuiun (a delicious antipasto made with salted cod), preparing your own sundried tomatoes, preserved lemons, or chilli jam, also, desserts like tiramisu and crostata?

Agrumi (Citrus)
The tuition can, on request, include other well known Italian dishes instead or as well. In addition to the lesson, as course participants you will be given detailed written recipes of everything you cook here, so that you can wow all your friends and family when you get home!
You will learn to cook:- traditional, tasty, but relatively simple and good value for money food which is easy to make when you get back home in small groups of between 2 and 6 people in a completely relaxed atmosphere with fun!
Course 1 - Afternoons only
Starting at 4.30pm
There will be a 3-hour cookery class given by Marina, who has spent many years in Britain teaching Italian culture and cookery at Adult Education classes.
At 8pm Dinner, when you can enjoy everything you have cooked!
Cost €60 per person, for the lesson and the dinner, inclusive of aperitivo (Prosecco), dinner of at least 3 courses, house wine, coffee and digestifs.
Course 2 - Full day
10.30am - Accompanied by Marina, depart for local shopping trip, to the Ventimiglia covered food market, and other food shops/markets as necessary, in order to buy the ingredients for that day's lesson and dinner.
12.30pm - Return to Villatalla, or free time.
Starting at 4.30pm - a 3-hour cookery class as above.
At 8pm Dinner, as above.
Cost €80 per person, for the morning food-buying trip, plus the lesson and the dinner as above.
As stated above, all course participants will be given written recipes of the dishes cooked to take away with them. For these courses we only need a minimum of 2 people, and we will limit numbers to 6.
(If you wish to visit a local wine or olive oil producer, or cheese maker, we would be happy to arrange this, just let us know a little in advance.)
If you would like to take part in a Cookery Day Course during your stay here, we would appreciate it if you could give us as much notice as possible in order that we can organise it for you.
